RCR Training Information

All UCLA bioscience postdocs are eligible to participate in Responsible Conduct in Research (RCR) and Rigor and Reproducibility training courses listed below. Rather than enrolling for course credit, postdocs can audit these classes for a certificate of completion.

Introductory RCR Training

  • Course: MIMG C234
  • Target Audience: Postdocs and graduate students at any stage of their training who are bioscientists doing bench or computational research
  • Format: Combination of brief lectures and small-group case-study discussions
  • When: Spring Quarter, Tuesdays, 12:00 – 2:00 PM or Fridays, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM; 10 two-hour, in-person sessions.
  • Enrollment Begins Winter 2027

Refresher RCR Training

  • Course: RCR Refresher course
  • Target Audience: Late-stage postdocs and graduate students doing bench, clinical or computational biosciences research
  • Format: Workshop style course focused on developing a culture of RCR as a mentor
  • When: October 6-28, 2026 on Tuesday and Wednesday, 9:00 – 10:30 AM, via Zoom

Rigor and Reproducibility Training

  • Course: MOL BIO 235
  • Target Audience: Postdocs and graduate students at any stage of their training doing bench or computational bioscience research
  • Format: Combination of lecture and small-group discussions, centered around videos, literature, and case-studies
  • When: Fall Quarter, Thursdays from 9:00 – 10:00 AM in BSRB 154
  • How to Enroll: Graduate students can enroll via the Registrar; Postdocs enroll through online registration form.
